In a Nutshell
My mission with Embraer, one of the largest aeroplane manufacturers in the world, was to streamline commercial aviation maintenance processes through innovative data visualization solutions. We aimed to empower engineers, with tools that made their work more efficient and meaningful, while enhancing Embraer’s value proposition to customers.

We aimed to empower engineers, with tools that made their work more efficient and meaningful, while enhancing Embraer’s value proposition to customers.
The Challenge
Commercial Aviation is one of the most regulated industries in the world, making it extremely difficult to manage and operate a fleet. Airlines and aircraft operators have to send the fleet’s operation and maintenance data to manufacturers, who analyse this information to determine the reliability of their aircraft and help their customers improve the maintenance plan safely.
The task was to create a digital product to optimise this process, reducing the effort of Embraer’s engineers and clients.

My activities were divided into three phases:
My activities were divided into three phases:
1. Immersion
Through interviews and observations, I gained insights into engineers' workflows and the maintenance cycle. Field research helped me understand data collection nuances from airline operators.
2. Strategy
Defining the product's concept and vision, I crafted a Product Vision Box, User Personas, and a Roadmap for data collection and intelligence dashboards.
3. Implementation
Working closely with designers and developers, we executed a design sprint to shape the initial release interface. Rapid prototyping and iterative development ensured progress. These prototypes were tested and engendered the solution releases, always working on sprints.

The Impact
The digital product improved data exchange consistency and agility, enabling real-time fleet performance monitoring. This led to enhanced maintenance planning and standardized performance monitoring.
